Instuctions for DIY Marantz Modifications
Below are examples of the installation instuctions for Marantz DIY upgrades. These refer to either a DIY service disc, pc uploader, or service remote depending on the machine you own.
Full upgrade instructions are included with each upgrade supplied by us. You will only be sent the correct firmware disc for the model you select, so please ensure you order the correct one!
Information:
Service Disc based upgrades
1. Enter service mode via the sequence of buttons as supplied with your specific upgrade (this varies with the model for upgrade) 2. Once in service mode, open the drawer, and insert the mod disc. 3. Depending on the model, the display will show either "UPDATE", "0", or "D". 4. Eject the disc, then using the players original remote control, follow the sequence of button key-presses to exit service mode. 5. Switch the machine into standby. Unplug from the mains. 6. Plug the machine back in. Installation is complete. 7. The upgrade is complete. ENJOY!
Service Remote based upgrades
1. Switch on the unit, wait for "no disc" to be displayed (make sure no disc is inserted!). 2. Press the transmit key ONCE on the service remote (pressing transmit again will erase the commands!) 3. The front panel will display a series of dashes. Now enter the appropiate code as supplied for your model, with the machines original handset. 4. The display will clear, saying "no disc". 5. Unplug the unit from the mains, then plug back in. 6. The upgrade is complete. ENJOY!
PC Uploader based upgrades
1. Connect the Interface to the PC 2. With the dvd player unplugged from the mains, connect the uploader service cable into the players service port (this is a small slit in the rear panel of the DVD player. You will see a small socket behind the opening in the metal panel - insert the uploader with the silver PCB facing upwards. 3. Plug in the DVD player, and turn it on. 4. On the PC, via windows explorer open the supplied disc, and double click the "clickme" icon. A dos window will open. If your PCs serial port is correctly configured, and you have inserted the uploader into the player correctly, a status window will open and after 10 seconds this will show "completed".
5. The DVD player will now reboot, or show "loading", depending on the model you have. 6. Switch the machine off, and unplug from the mains, remove the uploader from the rear of the player and PC, then test your player. 7. The upgrade is complete. ENJOY!
